Sammanfattning av senaste nyhetsbrevet från Kiev gjord av Lars. Med några bilder.
Dear friends!
This winter period was very active, and we are grateful to the Rotary worldwide community and your friendship for your firm and continuous support of Ukraine!
Those of you who read our Facebook page regularly have received our news right in time, and here I have gathered the most bright actions for this period to let you know about our cooperation's progress.
1. Medicines bought with RC Uddevalla-Skansen's donation of 500 EUR ( Anneli Lofstrom :) were successfully delivered to Kramatorsk. First, - to the Pediatric dpt.
THANKS!!! Thanks to our Fellow Rotarian Viktoriia, who organized that process!!!
Medicines will also be distributed to other city hospitals, as they are now gathered together.
2. BIG Humanitarian Convoy from Sweden (with the Leadership of Magnus Jacobsson, RC Bjofiorden, Uddevalla PingstKyrka) brought 27 beds, wheelchairs, many other clothes, and special medical tools for Slavuta Pension. THANK YOU!!! God bless the Sokol Family for helping those in need here!!!
3. Thanks to Good Swedish friends of Ukraine in Uddevalla city and the strong leadership of the Group Coordinator Annely Lillmaa, one more Medical Evacuation car from Sweden came full of boxes of seasonal clothing, shoes, food, and 16 heating ovens (!). Our friendly driver, Kicki, had a happy time helping sew the defense nets with local volunteers :) THANKS A LOT to all concerned! @PerJannersten!!!

4. The Rotary Club of Stockholm Vasaborgen donated 8100EUR to the Sokoliatko Family Development Centre to repair House Mansarde and arrange 2 guest rooms there. THANK YOU VERY MUCH, Alf Persson, for coordinating!!! We have already paid for the materials, and they will soon be delivered to the place. It will be a busy spring for Sokoliatkos!
5. It's a pity to write, but t he situation there is very challenging, as Sokoliatko's ancient Traktor died :(
As you may remember, they have 14 children, and plus some local refugee mothers give them their kids to develop/treat from the war affection. They live in a rural area with what they produce on their farm. here you can see photos from the summer 2024
They cultivate 10 hectares of land, 5 hectares of which are set aside for hay and cereals (oats, barley, corn), 5 hectares - for garden crops: fodder beets, pumpkins, zucchini for livestock (they have 5 cows, 2 heifers, 2 bulls, 7 goats, 3 ponies, 3 pigs and we raise 40 chickens), grow potatoes, table beets, carrots, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, cabbage, greens. Children enjoy delicious, fresh dairy products, vegetables, and fruits and learn how to care for livestock. Teenagers are already outstanding farmers and builders/reconstructors :)
Now the problem is that the farming season has already come, but the old Traktor is totally out :(
We are gathering donations to help them buy a "new" Traktor (in fact, they are looking for a used one).
Time is critical for them, so we will be grateful for ANY amount you can donate.
They found some here in Ukraine in the local online shop

Our Swedish friends from the Working group on helping Rehabilitation centers in Kryvyi Rih and Chernihiv Hospitals, Anders, Robert, and Erik just wrote me about their D2335 plan to send $5000=. VERY GOOD! THANK YOU!!!
By the way, 26 new beds just arrived at Kryvyi Rih, thanks to The Rotary Foundation Global Grant and our Canadian and Swedish friends!

Back to the Traktor for Sokoliatkos
I also had a good Zoom meeting with new friends in Connecticut, the USA, and I hope they can help with some amount.

And, of course, friends, if you have some plans to help Ukrainian people struggling with this war, now is the right time!
The money transfers from the EU, US, and other banks quickly go to our Ukrainian Privatbank. We have already received three parts of global grants and private donations from worldwide Rotarians. There is a direct way to send your donations to our Rotary Club of Kyiv-Capital. I will attach our state registration and non-profit documents to your archives. Of course, I'll tell you about our efforts and how the fundraising is going and send you photos of our news :)
